Father's Day for the Ex Men

This strip was by Dan Piraro on his BizarroBlog and I thought went well with our last Father's Day comic related post.

Cap Takes a Crap

I had no idea this was phrase going around regarding Marvel EiC Joe Quesada's Reborn cover, I just had to share after finding out. Joe Q. actually seems to enjoy the reaction

Comic Book Columns

Hey. Some recent comic book related articles/interviews/columns with some creators and a certain name you might recognize ;)

Pak Talks Comics - Super Giant Reader Q&A!

Taimur Dar: Been loving all your recent work lately and can't wait
for what the summer of 2009 brings for Skaar. Speaking of which, I know Hulk's
Warbound allies will be appearing, but what about the forgotten member of the
group Arch-E-5912, last seen with Damage Control? Will he be reuniting with the
Warbound soon?

GP: We definitely haven't forgotten Arch-E. But I can't say just yet when
we might see him again.

Taimur Dar: When you first created SHIELD agent Jake Oh back in
your "Phoenix: Warsong" mini, did you always plan on bringing him back in a
future Marvel project or was it just serendipitous opportunity to use him in
"War Machine"?

GP: I'd hoped to find another place for Jake and "War Machine" just made
sense. Jake was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in "Warsong" -- since then, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s
been disbanded, which meant that its various agents would presumably be needing
work. And Eaglestar International, the military contractor featured in "War
Machine" #1 to #5, was hiring! Hope you're enjoying Jake's return. Incidentally,
Jake has a BIG scene in "War Machine" #6, which hits stores today, so check it
out!

Taimur: It also looks like your incredible "Incredible Hercules"
co-writer will be joining you on your return to Hulk with an ongoing Savage
She-Hulk backup. Any chance of the children of Hulk meeting
then?

GP: Seems like that has to happen eventually, huh? You may just have to buy
every single book that Fred and I write in order to see if it does!

X-POSITION: Daniel Way

Taimur Dar realizes that Deadpool can feel “two of a mind,” so he was curious: if Deadpool has two ongoing series, will that make him “four of a mind?”
Your “Deadpool” title continues to rock, but now there’s going to be a new ongoing “Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth” title written by Victor Gischler. I was curious if you have been in contact to coordinate the directions of your separate titles and how your book will differ from Gischler's?
I’ve yet to speak with Victor, but I’d love to. Odds are, I’ll see him in San Diego next month. As far as my involvement with the sister title; there’s none. Since we have a common editor, I don’t foresee any problems with redundancy.

Frankly, I like not knowing what Victor has up his sleeve – it allows me to read the book as a Deadpool fan, like you do.

Any chance of Fantomex or any other Weapon Plus characters showing up in “Wolverine: Origins”?
Nuke. First issue. BOOM!

Will we see Wade's reaction to the death of his beloved Bea Arthur? I don't suppose even Yelena Belova (Black Widow II) can take her place…
Yes. In an upcoming issue, Deadpool will have a taco-induced hallucination, imagining himself to be in Heaven. He’ll meet Bea, and thank her for being a friend. Together, they’ll travel down a road and back again. He’ll tell her that her heart was true, and that he considers her a pal and a confidant.

Hey everyone,

Head over to the Midwest Review to vote on who you think the best Captain America writer is: Click Here

Some of my thoughts:

Mark Waid - Too magical. He might be one of the best Cap writers of all time, but I could do without all the supernatural stuff he throws at Steve Rogers.

Robert Kirkman - Very unambitious. He is a great writer, but he didn't even seem to be trying during his Cap run.

Ed Brubaker - The best of all time. He actually got me, and A LOT of other people, back into the character. Long live Bucky!!!

THE RED HOOD RETURNS....again

Jason?

Looks like the new Batman and Robin have their work cut out for them. This Marvel Zombie couldn't help but pick up the first issue and plans on sticking around for awhile. Whether or not this is indeed Jason Todd remains to be seen. Guess we'll just have to wait.....
